Why didn't you remove the defective ones? Just add another sensor and solenoid to kick out the bad ones

We do use RS LOGIX but for this PLC we are using CSCAPE.

cool. i use RS LOGIX and its good. what do you think is better? i havent used CSCAPE. i know rockwell automation products are well used in the industry. what about CSCAPE?

Yes, we use RSLOGIX also because it is used in industry. Cscape is free software and it is easy for our students to download onto their laptops. The PLC we are using here is the Horner XLt. It's not AB but the students enjoy programing them, especially with the different screens they can create.
