I like the Jack Nicholson version better. This dude is just a little too high strung and serious. Jack's version was funny and tormenting at the same time. The line "We've been ratted out boys." gets me every time

@NicholasGeschke The Joker doesn't do things for fun, he's actually a figure exposing corruption throughout the entire film in his own odd manner.

The Joker is in a way, a foil for Batman: He has no rules, no boundaries, nothing to hold him back. The Joker has no backround, no history, he's just...there.
Unlike Batman, who sees his fight as something to play out for the greater good, the Joker is in it just for his laughs.
He wants only to have, what he considers, "Fun" and cause as much destruction as he possibly can.
Joker doesn't hate Batman at all.

The Joker is the most charismatic and complicated bad guy in the movie indusrty ever.I wish we could see a film about The Joker's life.What turned him into a chaos lover?etc.That would be an awesome movie.
