First off I am not European, Copenhagen is a brand of chewin bacca haha. You should never assume! Second it's clear that you yourself are the guitarist. I've also been to the delta and witnessed for myself the birth place of the blues and the energy that surrounds the depths of the delta. Also just because of someones color does not mean they know more or less about soul. Im not doubting that people like your stuff either. just sayin.

@copenhagen331 ..this at least is an acceptable criticism ....but I have to find it strange , that a white European would say this has no soul , when every African / American that we know of that has seen this AND knows the artist would completely disagree with that....and I 'd say they'd know a little bit more what soul is...than any European....

there is just no soul in this! thats why it sounds the way it does, but i think a little slower, cleaner and less trying to get the hendrix sound it would be a lot better.

@KingArthurCom ....if you read the "gutless punk" 's so called "honest " criticism , you'd see it was a personal attack against the musician , AND the person taking the video....criticism is fine , but to add comments that use personal references , that question someones intent or integrity,about persons they don't know ...constitutes them as a HATER ...and therefore qualifies them as gutless, just like cyber -bullies are gutless ...because they'd NEVER say that to the persons face

amazing how someone , you don't know, and remains a gutless anyomous punk , wants to be such a hater about anyone ...don't like it why did you watch ??? or find yourself so compelled to respond in such a manner.....gutless punks like yourself would never say that to someones face , cause you wouldn't be standing after saying it...

However, Mr. Utain is clearly posturing in an attempt to distract away from his lack of musicianship. He's turning up the volume to cause distortion to hide his imprecision of playing. Stringing random riffs is not music. Improvising against a solid background is torture to your fellow musicians and your audience. Sorry, Mr. Utain, but endless noodling does not a good guitarist make.

Next: holy cow, this backing band should be called The Saints. They are patiently playing their way through a 1-4-5 12-bar blues progression which the guitar player is obviously unfamiliar with. However, it doesn't seem as though he's familiar with much of anything that falls under the banner of "ensemble playing." Clearly, these musicians have mastered the stable backbone of what makes the blues pervasive throughout American culture.
