Agile, reliable, responsive, communicative... there is no shortage of adjectives to describe the new Gowind family. Designed for emerging missions involving surveillance and the policing of coastal waters and the high sea, the family of ships is also capable of handling show-of-presence or combat missions.

Surveillance and action
Surveillance of the exclusive economic zone calls for a resilient platform capable to carrying out a wide range of seagoing activities in times of peace, and provide an efficient response to threats in times of crisis: protection of vital interests (for instance: oil production platforms or fishing grounds), monitoring of sea traffic, including visits and inspections, the struggle against drug trafficking and piracy, exclusion, intervention and combat. The ships in DCNS' Gowind family are designed to provide an effective response to challenges such as these.
Capable of rapid intervention -- including within the framework of international operations -- the GOWIND ships distinguish themselves from their peers: the launch of unmanned aerial and surface vehicles, the quick launch and recovery of two commando crafts at the stern, 360° new generation panoramic bridge, satellite communication system that fits in with the maritime protection networks, architectural and weapons systems tailored to asymmetrical threats, flexible mission system! As such, they offer a wealth of decisive advantages for countries that give priority status to the protection of their maritime interests and national sovereignty.

The GOWIND family offers a range of customizable and cost-effective vessels that are easy to operate and maintain, making it possible to provide a precise response to the needs expressed by a navy, for tonnages ranging from 1,000 to 2,500 metric tons.
