Sorry to hear about your friend's neice. This is the first time I can remember a something like this hitting the young harder than the older people. Personally I never get flu shots. Yeah, they might prevent a few flu's but they can be harmful for you in other ways, mercury being one of them. I would never counsel anyone against getting one though. It's all a matter of personal choice and your belief in the pros and cons. For me the con's outweigh the pro's.

Her family and friends are so devastated, its heartbreaking. This flu will be aiming at people under 30, and I just want everyone to take care of themselves in the best way they can.
I get the seasonal flu shot each year - with my asthma I can't afford not to...
