The Brady Bunch as Nudists & other Awkward Kid Scenes

Scenes from The Partridge Family, The Last Starfighter, The Brady Bunch, and Mr. Belvedere portray children in situations which would, in the real world, be sexually charged, but since they are intended to evoke audience laughter, the child actors have to play them as benign events and ideas. In the real world, viewing pornography and acting out in sexual ways deeply affects kids in emotional, psychological, and spiritual ways. Though this is not quite as bad as making kids into sex objects (a la Toddlers and Tiaras), these sorts of scenes have promoted the idea that kids are less than complete persons.

@TheRushingWind As shown in the Brady Bunch scene, those kids are either 1) closet nudists who almost invite the maid to be a killjoy, 2) playing an awkward practical joke on the maid (which only works because of her unprompted cooperation), 3) or suddenly abandoning the often-shown housecoats-over-pajamas-just-­to-go-out-in-the-hallway level of modesty. I think 3) was the intended interpretation for this standalone scene, but those kids are 11, not 6, so I call it awkward.
