These guys were all over the place in the Lagoons in Tahiti on a recent visit there. They varied in size from about an 2-3 cm to about 30ish cm. This one was about 13-14cm long.
@punkorbepunkd I agree - very cool and pretty. I have never seen on for sale here in NZ. Since I've seen trigger first 3 feet long, I can imagine in a few years, it will be a handful! :)
Hey Glenn - yeah - they are very unusual. I don't remember seeing them when we were in Fiji, but apparently, they are called Humu fish in Hawaii. They certainly stand out, although I found the cornet fish (which I couldn't film since it was underwater) and the string ray were more interesting.
I love those fish. There beautiful. I just purchase A baby one thats an inch long.
