NASA spacecraft are shielded against radiation. You'd think that Kryptonian tech would be even better shielded.

@josemari1989 Except that Jor-El explains in the first movie that this is in fact the case. "By now you will have reached your 18th birthday, as it is measured on Earth. By that count I will have been dead many thousands of your years."

This scene explains nothing we didn't already know, that is why they cut it. And why the hell would he go back? He knows that place would only be a kryptonite minefield. At least wear a lead suit.

@drbotanus may be you mean worm hole :)

my DVD doesn't have deleted scenes :( thanks for putting this up.

Which DVD set is this from?
-
it makes sense for it to be a five year trip. 2 and a half there two and a half back. when he comes to earth he was only about two to three years old. what dose not make sense is that kyrpton exploded in the first one, because it's orbit drifted into the sun. I think it had to do with Zod from the comic books i think. not sure.

awesome

Yeah, they should have kept this scene.

@drbotanus Not when Superman has a ship made from Kryptonian technology
The entire return to Krypton makes no sense. Though it is a five year trip to and from Krypton to the traveler, it is thousands of years to everyone else. So Superman should return to Earth thousands of years after everyone he knows have died.
