Aye it is really quite astounding, but the shinkansen is slightly slower than the TGV!!! It is however much closer to the ground, so it appears to be travelling faster.

@ejdf870 the japanese are very advanced in many areas.

@poopsonlavega This Shinkansen series 500 was made to run @ 320 but noise restrictions makes it unable to do it.
This shinkansen is still quicker than TGV as it has an acceleration of 1.92km/h x sec and it reaches 300km/h under 3 minutes
