Airport absurdity hits the US

The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a case against TSA, the transportation authority and the FBI on behalf of a California physics student. Nick George was handcuffed and interrogated at a Philadelphia airport, he was detained for 5 hours at the airport and was released. The student happened to be studying Arabic and was holding flash cards with Arabic and English on them.

I'm not surprised that there are cases like this. I've noticed that security personnel (boarder guards, customs etc.) like to abuse their position by unjustly targeting innocent people. The government needs to step in and implement laws that punish these people for not having reasonable cause to detain. Speaking arabic does not mean you are a terrorist, neither does having the same name as one, or misunderstanding security policy. There should be probable cause, not just a whim.
