well... I think it was yellowstone volcano :/ because all the island now were once connected, and the power of that one volcano could wipe us out even know, so with all the islands were together it had the power if wiping out everything in its path... but think of every species possible and 9 out of 10 survived like a cockroach but we didnt evolve from a cockroach ... no we evolved from a species that is on earth no more ... so yeah that my theory :)

North America have not been east of the atlatic ridge, North America and Africa have split right along the ridge, and moved away from each other. Just as it have done on the other side of America, and everywhere else. The earth is growing, and that's why we have the Grand Canyon, and Grand Canyon on Mars. All planets are growing.

CHAPOPOTE check it out it's a deep sea vocano in the gulf that's in the exact spot!

The dinosaurs were probably wiped out by a combination of toxic atmospheric conditions and a finalizing blow of the meteor or possibly comet impact in mexico. You should check out hte Deccan traps and Siberian traps for massive volcanic activity which could possibly correlate to Permian and Cretaceous extinction events.

This isn't a mystery, I know what killed the dinosaurs! Lavos, for those that dont believe, well show me any proof that disproves the possibility of parasite being of such size as Lavos, they say truth is stranger then fiction.

With supermagnets, one can demonstrate diamagnetism. By supercooling a supermagnet, another magnet can be suspended in anitgravity, until it warms, then it will fall. In space, there is little heat, except on surfaces where light can reach, and in dense objects. A gravitaional anomoly, or even a solar flare of gross proportions, could have disrupted the magnetic relation between the Moon and Earth, enough so it would roll across the surface and return to orbit. Probably before dinosaurs though..
-
A sidestep of the Moon theorym is that it may have rolled across the surface of the Earth. Showing more accuracy between the Maria and the Limestone deposits as they stretch up the western side of the North American continent. This would mean the Moon was already in orbit around Earth, and that serious magnetic or gravitational forces were at hand. Notice, the maria face Earth 100% of the day, this is a clue to a magnetic relation. And an explanation of possible floods.
-
But all in all, I believe all of these things happened. I believe the Moon split the continents. And later, a series of comets or asteroids bombarded bothe the Earth and the Moon, if five or six large meteors had hit at the right angle, you would have all these craters, an extinction event, plates already moving, and the craters on the Moon as well.
-
Another theory on what may have split the continents is, the Moon hitting the Earth. Such force could easily crack the continents. I believe it hit around what is now Arabia. The vast quantities of Limestone, are in such specific locations, that it could have been left by this impact. The compostion of the Moons surface, is not far from limestone, especially if you add the high heat, and mils of yrs of erosion and bacterial life. The maria are practically the same shape as the deposits.

The other theories also have links through placement to continental drift. One is that a series of large meteors had bombarded the earth in such a way, that the crust cracked and began to push apart over millions of years. Take a good look at a map with details on underwater elevation, you can see at least 2 half circle ridges. One just off the coast of Peru, and another near Madagascar and India. Both have a center point with raised land mass. Near India, they have found large Iridium deposits.
But, you have the continental drift. You gave no explanation how it became that way. Only one does and that is hydropating. Oldest tree found is 4750 years old.
Catbon dating is horrendous. Do you think man could have killed off the dinosaur? If this planet is only 5000 years old. I do not think volcanos nor asteroids could have made a whole species extint.
Man has been known to make hundreds of species extinct.

Brilliant- yes let's ignore the layers and layers of sedimentary deposits. Which would have taken more than 5000 years to accumulate.

Take sand and a glass it layers. When you have the Earth rip apart at once. Ur would look like it layered for millions of years. Yet it was instantaneous it is why Grand Canyon has a river flowing when it should not even flow.
There wasonly oen ice age. And, not really an Ice Age. It was due to the fact when the water sprayed up 20 miles high. It froze to the ground. Mammoths and Dinosaurs died and why they were will perserved.

Well how can I dismiss your ideas. Everyone dismissed my hypothesis. So we're on equal footing. Fools of a Feather.

i think youve stumbled on a massive co incidence here.look long enough as said by others - u will find circles to fit any cap u have in your house.
this is an interesting concept and no doubt i will ponder it many times. i have no doubt that eruptions have happened on scales that cause global climate change and have caused huge islands to slide into the ocean.and new islands to be formed.
a quick way to confirm your theory is to see of there are volcanic lava remains in the areas suggested ?

to continue... there is no volcanic evidence left. since it was less dense than surround rock, it was pulzerized and was washed away by continuous glaciation. lava is so light, that when combined with enough gas will even float on water. i wish i had some geologically evidence, but it's scattered across N.A. and in the oceans in minute amounts. undetectable unless looking for it in the right places and it would take a powerful microscope to find it within a sample. or a chemical analaysis.
