  • or any light over 10 lbs i belive

  • just for the diy, be aware that the box shown in this video would not be appropriate to support a fan.

  • thanks for the video. question: what do I do if my lamp fixture does not have colored wires?

  • I need you to show me the video when you nailed the box to the joist do I have enough room to hit both nail with hammer from the lather without hitting the drywall ?

or does it have to done from the attic

Why nobody speaks about this clearly or shows it in a video , is it a secret to everyone ?

  • Do you have any videos showing how to install a light from a drop (false) ceiling? Thank you!

  • @IfunyunsI no it's not, it's just for safety. If your house is old I am surprised it even has a ground wire

  • @IfunyunsI dont be confuse with the ground wire.. it will work without connecting the ground.. the main purpose of grounding in the equipments is for safety of the user. just in case the live/hot wire touch the metal casing of the equipment, the current flows to the ground. so the even you touch the equipment the current will not flow thru your body to the ground. in ac circuit, there is no problem interchanging the hot wire and nuetral.

  • I am still confused about the ground wire. If there is a grounding screw on the new light fixture, do you just attach the ground wire from the light fixture to the ground screw and forget about the ground wire that is coming out of the ceiling???

I am attempting to change my first light fixture ever, and I dont want to do anything wrong.

  • are both bare wires hooked up to the green screw?
