@rycan84 They can conduct a search without a warrant. This of course is a seperate issue based on probable probable cause. The U.S. Border Patrol is authorized to patrol not only the Northern and Southern Borders but also the Nation's Interior. "The Border" includes and is not limited to: the Northern and Southern Borders, The Gulf of Mexico, Puerto Rico, Gua, Swain's Island and America Samoa. The Border is also 3 nuatical miles from any bay, shoreline, inlet or jetty.

@troyshereforu First, the camera guy wasn't "pulled over". He drove into the checkpoint on a public highway. The BP's mission is to prevent the entry of aliens illegally entering the United States, to arrest those aliens illegally in the United States, and to arrest the smugglers of aliens.

@yun514 He's not a Customs Officer. He didn't know if he was a USC until he spoke to the fool in his vehicle. The BP Agent would have to run wants and warrants on the subject. The "Customs" officer,as you refer to him, isn't there to secure the country.

@chad00023 Why ask for a Supervisor? Once alienage is determined you are on your way from the checkpoint. If you want to have a pissing contest with the point agent -- plan on spending some time there.
