Todays word is quarterly. This is both an adjective and an adverb. As an adjective, it means pertaining to or consisting of a quarter.
For example, you can say, The companys quarterly financial statement showed substantial growth.

  • Yes but some students get tripped up by words that look familiar to them, so be cognizant of the different pronunciation. Actually budget and theater (viz-a-vis Greek) are also of Latin origin, while words not of Latin origin such as 'is' are probably easy for you, so it's not really about the origin.

  • When you're speaking very slowly for emphasis, you pronounce it how it is written. In normal speech it's derly, because it is easier.
