Rainwater Barrel, Rain water collection

Video of our Rainwater barrels. Rain water from these barrels are used for watering the small garden or for drinking water. Our water filter is used instead of drinking the water straight from the barrels. During our water outage in Sept.2009, we filled our 5 gallon solar water heating bags for our showers. Our next project is to connect a pump to the barrels to supply enough water pressure to use our propane outdoor tankless water heaters. This would provide lots of long hot showers. Is there anything other than the gutter leaf that one can use the water besides bleach and what type of bleach are you refering to is it household bleach.

I painted one of my barrels. Just to do the sides it took two cans so far and some time to wait before the next coat. Not sure if it was worth painting.
