  • from where do you charge the tomtom? side or bottom?

  • Bottom

  • can the garmin be updated?

  • Speed cameras (paid), Operating System (free) and maps (paid) can be updated. Garmin just about to release Euro 08 maps, North America already out.

  • Why didn't you do a dynamic test on the roads, or would the units interfere with each other?

  • They wouldn't have interfered with each other, GPS Sat Nav devices are passive. It was the difficulty of setting up a camera in the car (too much wobble) but I'm working on a way to do just that - good point.

  • wow i jest realized that saying noob makes you look sooo foolish

  • The refrash rate of the Garmin (frames per sec) is crap compared to the Tomtom.

When making quicker manoeuvers, this can make all the difference.

  • lol just got this unit didnt know it was so old but only paid 25 bucks so oh well first one ive owned

where can i get the speed maps camera ect stuff im new to this any help would be great thanx

  • Tomtoms are easier to use, and the MapShare feature and ability to remove blocked roads/bridges is very useful. There's a local bridge that's permanently out, and on my Tomtom, I am able to remove it, so my Tomtom doesn't take me that way and instead routes me the best way depending on my destination. I have used several different models of both; do yourself a favor and buy a Tomtom.

  • Pros and cons for both, its like comparing between Mercedes and BMW.

  • @NjSFiN3STfCUK yeah thats what im asking lmao

  • Garmin wins Tomtom sucks

  • @xoio you mean when trying to run away from police type of "quicker" ? XD For any normal driver the refresh rate of the Garmin should be sufficient.. otherwise I would think they would contribute more recourses to speeding up the refresh rate.... But on another note, I still do prefer the faster refresh rate, who wouldn't :P

  • it's called will and deal man and not just that I had 2 of the 3 garmin's given to me cause they are junk.
