@tommypsue Okay me & my OCD might be overdoing it but here are two more cool German language things about the song & the group: Augenblick is an expression for a moment literally meaning eye (auge) look (blick) with an n for whatever reason inbetween & Xmal means something like many times. So Xmal Deutchsland means something like many times Germany! Oh & the expression box in terms of a prison is actually for a prison ROOM.
@tommypsue The general gist of my explanation comes from the German man who translated it for me. Box can be used to mean phone booth in German. It's also used for prison though that's less likely to be intended literally but perhaps emotionally it is. As a side note I think something's skrewy with Youtube these days because your comment didn't appear in my inbox. Just have to check up on my comments I guess.
@tommypsue Yea it's a favorite of mine too; my decidedly favorite by Xmal Deutschland that I know of. I was surprised by the lyrics too. The music felt/feels like a city is going to be leveled or something like that. But I guess the drama is all personal. The box could be a telephone booth where she waits for a call from someone not anywhere near as interested in her as she is in him. Apparently this dynamic is the norm for her love interests ("thousand hands, thousand words which can't...").
@urganodevotaton THaNK You !! so nice of you.... Surprised, i am, the lyrics seem less dramatic than the song (an all time favrit), or than i expected, but given the mystery of her context or maybe something in the culture she's alluding to, maybe they're not.
sound like shoegaze/dreampop. Great!
