  • Studio version was ACC's #98 song of '82. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Written by Karen Brooks, who had a brief recordin' career of her own.

  • does anyone have the original recording of Tennessee Rose by Emmylou Harris

  • One of my most favorite songs of Emmylou Harris.

Gluitar player and fiddlers' interpretaiton is also good.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • That's Jon Randall singing the beautiful high harmony part. Trisha is singing - the sound is just off sync with the video. I saw the original show. American Music Shop was the best show on TV at the time.

  • Everytime I find new Emmy video in my life its just the greatest.

  • I could've done without Triasha Yearwood's "contribution," especially since she appears to be lip syncing.

  • 54SV--has to be the early-90's, but this song was a hit for Emmylou in '81-'82. A beautiful song written by Karen Brooks & Hank Devito, it is my favorite recording by Emmylou. That's Mark O'Connor on the fiddle, Brent Mason (electric lead guitar), and "Handsome" Harry Stinson (now with Marty Stuart's Fabulous Superlatives band), drums. I can't make out who's playing bass, and I hear piano, but never see who's playing it. "American Music Shop" was one of the best music shows EVER on TV (on TNN)!

  • when was this?

  • no one can sound like Emmy. No matter how u try. she has that echo efect.

  • Yeah, but that sounds all like Emmylou. And in the footage, it looks like Trisha Yearwood is singing part of the song. Man!

Too bad I wasn't around to watch this myself (wasn't into Emmy at the time, bummer).
