@aliciaangel23 "Bug" is slang. It has no biological meaning. If you want to think about the common traits of bugs, bottom-dwelling, living in dark, secluded places and eating waste that other animals normally would NOT eat... a lobster is a bug. I'm sorry you didn't know that.

@aliciaangel23 You need to get some class.
-
@aliciaangel23 It is a total bug. Water-bug- look at the structure: Antennae, exoskeleton, the tenacity of 1,000 men; It is completly a bug.
A tasty meat filled bug.
Go catch a crawfish....

Brilliant. Alton is the man, I confess my love for this show and people look at me with a strange face. This his the home cook's guide! Thanks.
-
@gowifb He probably planned an episode on Rabbit, but the producers put the kibosh on it.
-
On the contrary; "cooking up a bunch of bugs" refers to crawfish, which, granted, are similar, but they are not lobsters.
-
@aliciaangel23 Actually, I've read lobster described as just that. If you go down South, you might hear, "C'mon over. We'll cook you up a bunch of bugs."

more like scream to 10

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

you people calling crabs and lobster bugs are complete morons..its not a BUG..
I thought that was pretty funny. "If this bothers you, consider this...the food chain." I was not expecting that. I figured he would go straight into the process of freezing them first, instead of a long lecture on basically why these PETA people and others are wimps. Alton Brown just doesn't seem like the kind of host who would do that. I actually was surprised to see he even did a lobster episode
