Hello peoples! It's DarkLeach7 here with a new video! I modified Sonic Generations (PC) a little and made the game Swap Classic and Modern Acts. However, this would've not been possible without the People at Sonic Retro (Because I downloaded programs from there to do this). I thank them.
-------------------------------------------------
None of the games code was altered for this to happen (Only the renaming of files, unless that counts.)
---------------------------------------------------
As you can tell, Classic Sonic cannot complete Act 2. This is for numerous reasons, but the main one being Classic Sonic can't do tricks, Rendering Sky Sanctuary Act 2 ending prematurely for Classic Sonic. However I'm doing the "Dreamcast" and Modern Eras too, so don't worry.
Thanks for watching!
-------------------------------------------
You can do this yourself!
You need three things.
1. a high-end computer (obviously)
2. A PC Copy of Sonic Generations
3. The Hacking tools found here: http://info.sonicretro.org/SCHG:Sonic_Generations
And you can hack this game away as you please.
As a General Rule of thumb always:
1. Make Backups (Otherwise a re-install is required if you ever want to change back)
2. Know what you're hacking (Don't be an idiot)
With Classic Sonic in the Modern Levels here are some rules/ info:
1. Don't Spin Dash in 3D Mode. The game WILL freeze. However you can still Spin Dash in 2.5D Mode
2. Don't Touch Trick Pads, The game WILL freeze because the game doesn't know how to make Classic Sonic do tricks. However, you can roll into a Trick Pad just fine and you'll just bounce forward.
3. Don't Touch a Rainbow Ring, the game WILL Freeze for the same reason as above, however you can't roll into a Rainbow Ring. So Avoid these whenever possible.
These are the reasons that the Modern Acts are incomplete-able. That doesn't stop you from exploring around and having fun though.
-------------------------------------
Any info I left out/praise/ criticism/ comments are welcome below (As long as you don't troll)
Sonic the Hedgehog and everything Sonic related is (C) SEGA, this video is for knowledge, not meant for monetary gain, if SEGA says I have to take this down, I WILL take this video down. If by chance this video gets removed and you downloaded it, please don't re-upload this somewhere else, it'll only make SEGA mad. So please don't do it.
With all that out of the way...
DarkLeach7 Out!
Only for the PC?
speedhedgehog455 2 weeks ago
@speedhedgehog455 Yes, unless you want to do the painstaking process of cracking the XBOX 360 and PS3 format and basically modding your console. And unless they release a Mac Version PC is the only way you can mod this.

I'm curious, is it possible to have Classic Sonic load Modern Sonic's trick animations?
netknight 3 weeks ago
@netknight In theory yes, but I do not know how to make the game use these extra animations. I can put them in the Classic Sonic File (Don't know if I'm using the right one), but I do not know how to make the game use them because what looks like an animation list file is a garbled mess.

@DarkLeach7 Ah... I was thinking about that, since at least then It could make C. Sonic more plausible for Modern stages without completely splitting his playstyle to be a Chibi Modern Sonic.
Alternatively, someone COULD alter the Modern levels so they're equally compatible (Yellow ramps with red ramps, red hoops over rainbow hoops) with C. Sonic without actually editing him.

@netknight What you're think of already exists. It's Classic Sonic Adventures. Search it up on Google. (or Sonic Retro, where you download it from)
