Bear with them. This game was made by a bunch of guys sitting in a Las Vegas studio way back in 1993, who were making their 3D artist double as an improvised "actor" for the cutscenes, among other such crazy things.
In a sense, it's very much part of the reason why this game became so noteworthy.
