This is a corresponding video to the "Fish Heads" Deer video several uploads ago. This was right after the unfortunate album had fallen down a cliff to its death (broke its neck we figured) upon the steep fall. As we rounded the trail (all on Angel Island in the middle of the San Francisco Bay) we saw two vultures who had just begun to eat the dead animal. As you can see in the corresponding video, shot about 5 hours later, those vultures had totally devoured every last bit of this animal in a matter of hours. As noted in description of that other video the policy of the rangers on Angel Island, as with any state or national park, is to allow nature take its course. Hence while they were well aware of this dead deer they left it out on the trail. A sad side note to this tale is that after a couple of minutes of us looking down on this poor dead deer we looked up above about 20 feet up on the hillside where he had fallen to his death from and we saw what must have been his family - three other deer looking down at us and following us (on the higher parallel level) as we walked away as if they were going to attack us almost - most atypical behavior for the usually timid deer who normally run away from humans. It was sad but that is life - and death in the wild and in our civilization pretty much also.
