All right subscribers, it's time for some 1986 recordings! Most of us are familiar with Elton's later 1986 voice--where he sounds terrible and very strained (AKA Australia 1986, and stuff like Los Angeles 1986). However, just because he sounded bad at the end, doesn't mean that the earlier gigs were bad! Oh, HELL NO! The early 1986 gigs (and to an extent, some of the summer 1986 gigs), feature Elton in great vocal form, and nailing the songs--just like the previous years! I already showed you Munich 1986, now lets jump ahead to late April! To date, this is the final known recording of the early 1986 shows (there's a show 2 days later in Brussels, then the Prince's Trust show)! This recording is in superb quality--so we can hear everything! Being at the end of the Ice On Fire Tour, Elton's voice is a bit rough around the edges, but he still is able to hit the key high notes in songs like: "Philadelphia Freedom," "Burn Down The Mission," "Someone Saved My Life Tonight," and "I'm Still Standing" (all great versions)! His voice is still in great shape overall, so don't expect failure--expect greatness!
ENJOY!!!
Note: Elton delivers one of the most obnoxious, random-phrased versions of "Bennie And The Jets" I have ever heard. He hits high notes in spots where you don't expect to hear them!
It's one of the last great versions!
