  • do you use water to soften the sculpey clay? how are the tools named? please reply

  • @samfsilentbob Hi Sam... Super Sculpey is a PVC Clay ...not a water base clay. When I smooth I use a tiny bit of 70 % rubbing alcohol and brushes....some use baby oil, but I have never used the oil. As for tools I use many different types... mainly dental spoons and the Kemper Laceing Tool. Hope this helps

  • Do your DVDs work on UK TV sets?

  • @Doodlenaut ... Yes! We sell many DVD's to the UK

    Thanks for asking

  • Noses are the best part of any character design. They're just the best to draw or shape. Even though this is an excerpt, from just watching I've learned a lot. I hope to get these DVD's soon. Any advice in working in a smaller scale?

  • @PsykerScum .. I totally agree, I adore noses..so much character !! Also can make a face go from female to male or male to female with a few small adjustments to the nose...

So happy you are enjoying the excerpts...

As far as working in small scale... (I work in 1:12th scale miniature) I use the exact same method for miniatures that I use for this larger size... just scale everything down... my mini hands even have the armatures as well as the legs and feet

  • @51164artman I give an address on the DVD of where we buy the tools...basically they are 'dental tools' you may be able to purchase on the internet...they are called dental spoons.

  • Where can I buy the tool you used on this video you used to create the nose flange ? looks like a rounded spoon.

  • JUST TO TELL YOU THAT YOU DO VERY, VERY GOOD. AND LIKE A TEACHER, ONE OF THE BEST!!

I TRY TO FALLOW YOU MAKING THE SAME, OF COURSE, I DID NOT DO THE BEST, BUT WITH THE GOOD CLASSES YOU GIVE, DID'NT DO SO BAD.

    ANY WAY....CONGRATULATIONS !!

  • Thank you Thank you!

Will be heading over to the site to buy the DVDs!

  • @creagers1 Hi! Thanks for the reply! It definetly helped me a lot! Just bought some super sculpey and compared it with traditional clay & the PVC clay is harder than the water based clay. Another difference is that when you add a pice of clay to your figure with the PVC clay you just add it and smooth it, with traditional clay you have to scratch and moisten both of the surfaces in order to keep them together. if u dont when you bake it the piece it'll explode! the name's actually Emmanuel :)

  • wow, excellent tutorial! thank you!
