The Twilight Zone (1985-1989) S1 Ep 9a

A shy timid woman by the name of Maddie, is working at a thrift shop and tries on a pair of shoes. The shoes infuse her with the personality of a rich murdered woman, seeking revenge..

This episode is a remake of the original The Twilight Zone episode "Dead Man's Shoes". It is based on that episode's teleplay by Charles Beaumont and OCee Ritch. It takes place in a modern setting and features a woman instead of a man as the protagonist.

  • Typical Jewish husband.

  • She got him when she took over the black girl.

    I feel so terribly racist.

  • Terrible shooting...but good episode!

  • @dplomin1954 This color version has a more dramatic ending than the b&w version does. The killer is the one dying at the end rather than the person inheriting the pair of shoes. The pair of shoes leads the man to death in the b&w one whereas the pair of shoes leads the women into revenge and eventually killing the initial murderer

  • @dplomin1954 Yeah. Thats Helen Mirren. Shes awesome. =)

  • Okay, it wasn't a bad version, but I'm partial to the original B&W. What is cool about these remakes, is the time they were made. I recognized Jeffrey Tambor as the husband and Teresa Saldano (?) as the maid, and was that Helen Mirren?! No closing credits, so I'll have to look it up somewhere else. Nice effort, but I fear the reason for this show is to make color versions of Rod's originals, because people are TOO STUPID to watch B&W anything, at least when they made these new versions.

  • @gotcheese7 These shoes had to be gorgeous enough for another woman to have been so enticed to try them at a thrift shop before this pair had a chance to be put on display at that same store. Trying on this pair was an event that changed her life

  • @123perrin You have a good point there. Both men and women can have strong urges to side with those who are wealthy. Toodles :)

  • @SexyRaww , well i said those comments ''tongue in cheek''. of course not all women are like that. some are, but hey, so are some men. anyway, no need to apologize, no offence was taken. cheers and peace ;)

  • @123perrin well I'm sorry about that false assumption. But I will say it's hard understanding how you treat your wife based on your stereotypical view of people. But that's none of my business. I just wish you the best of luck. And don't take this personally.

besides, your responses elicited a judgmental reply. I sincerely apologize if I was judgmental but it was only because of the information from you. it's like when a fat girl wears a shirt that says, "skinny bitch." It's confusing lol
