Social critic and author Chris Hedges talks about his latest book "Death of the Liberal Class", in which he argues that democracy is on life support in the U.S. He blames the liberal elites in media, labour, religious groups and academia, for allowing the unfettered rise of the corporate class.

  • Chris Hedges FTW. Absolutely no words to express his clarity, saneness, compassion and truthfulness. This is what a 21st century patriot looks like.

  • Is it me or does it sound really obvious that the interviewer ssslurss hisss wordssss?

  • Join and Support your Occupy Movement and Bill of Rights Movements in your localities... A revolution will only occur with your voice joining in...

  • is it time for a voted-revolution? JeffBlock2012

  • A worthy successor to Noam Chomsky (may he live a hundred years).

  • @esteban0321: alas, alas, Chris Hedges tells us in this video what we're facing: "... a terryfing rightwing backlash, that will obiterate an anemic, the anemic, sort of democracy that we have in place, and really usher-in an age of totalitarianism."

A grass-roots program of restoration of Civil Rights, of habeas corpus for starters, rights to privacy in all respects--as it used to be--and all other rights for the way we want to live---that's our only hope.

    Politicians sold us

  • @serenitydayz: thank you; excellent bit of VITAL information. The U.S. government has already entered the TWILIGHT ZONE OF TOTALITARIAN TYRANNY against U.S. People, ushered-in by the demolishing of U.S. Civil Rights that the Patriot Act unleashed.

WE HAVE ENTERED THE TIMES WHEN CARRYING THESE PHONE NUMBERS IN ONE'S WALLET MIGHT BE THE ONLY HOPE TO SAVE THE LIFE OF ANY AMERICAN. Be afraid---no kidding!

  • I continue to "stir the coals of freedom".....Countless men and women have endured extreme difficulty in order that we may yet have this "conversation". I am perplexed that those responsible for allowing "sub prime mortgages" have not been prosecuted to the full extent of the law. There is no excuse for their subversive wrecking of the American economy.... ..I am concerned that while America continues living to the beat of the conventional media that "Rome is burning"..the SLEEPER MUST AWAKEN
