Virginia Ironside horrified viewers by saying that she would be willing to smother a sick child and by describing abortion as a "moral", "unselfish" act of a loving mother.
her feeling of horror is much greater than getting rid of a couple of cells... so you cannot control your feelings?? is up to that suffering entity to decide whether it wants to live or not, regardless of the feelings it may cause to the parties around it.
@Tarvi This is rational thinking. What matters is to live a good and happy life and let/help others to live a good and happy life. If someone is living a horrible and painful life and no one can help them, the right thing to do is to end his/her misery.
@nonbe1iever this is a rediculous statement, if a child is born a certain way it has no knowledge that there is any difference in themselves and others. And most children would want to live anyway even if they were different so that maybe they can help another person in some way or bring understanding to a disease. Sick people think we all need to kill those that are not perfect. that is sick sick sick.....
It is more humane to terminate a human life that has no concept of it's existence and feels no pain or suffering than to let a child live a short agony riddled existence. I agree with what she says, but i think she phrased it badly. People who allow severely ill or disabled children who suffer every day, are in my view selfish! They are only keeping the child alive for themselves, not for the good of the child, it would be a loving act to release them from their suffering.
@GoldenbanjoDJ I don't agree with her views on children but I wonder is it better to die than to sufferfrom a very bad disease. I don't know if I could bear with being paralysed.
my life advice? never listen to an old lady who has pink streaks in her hair.....

She is right. I don't know if I would be able to kill anyone if he/she was in horrible pain but that would be the right thing to do.
And she didn't say a "sick" child, she said a "deeply suffering child", "if there is nothing else that could be done". That is the right thing to do.
