Legend has it that the Great Vignaux, in contrast to the stunned audience watched the American player to continue uninterruptedly with his shots, conversely observed carefully the technique of his opponent's game, so that during the night without interruption he trained with his coach and next day, the resumption of the match, managed to achieve a record 1451 points in one shot, leaving the U.S. froze in his chair and triumphantly won the match.

...........the American George F. Slosson (So here is where does the term "American series") which, during the early stages of the match, after ups and downs, managed to capture the basic position of the series getting a significant number of points and taking far ahead of his opponent . -cont-

Mooi filmpje trouwens :D

It does not look easy, I have tried it ( very badly) on an English billiards table, but have not seen it done so fluently before. I would love to visit this place when next I am in the Netherlands in September. What is the name of the Room?...and thanks again to both you and Mr van Hooff for this superb exhibition of a lifetime's work. It is truly beautiful.

Thank you very much for the nice compliments. I hope we can meet you in September and maybe learn this technique to you! We are playing every friday night in: de Stetweg 41/1, 1901 JD, Castricum.

Amazing skills. thank you so much for posting this very instructional piece. Who is the player and where was it videoed? Somewhere in the Netherlands I guess. Why is it called "De Serie Americaine''. Is this or was this style of carom originally American?

This player is Mr van Hooff. He was one of the best billiard players in Holland. He is still playing on a high level but not anymore for big tournements. This video was made in a small town near Amsterdam called Castricum. The style of his play is called americaine, This is the best style to make a lot of points. It looks easy but it is very difficult. I dont know why it is called like that. try wikipedia. Thank you for your reaction!
