CRUISING ON A JONAS BROTHERS LOVE STORY SEQUEL chp 53

[The next morning, Nick was ready and packed to leave for their flight back to New Jersey]
BIG ROB: I'll take the bags downstairs. I'll come back up to get you.
[Nick sat on the edge of his bed and flipped through the channels. He tried not to let the regret and pain wash over him. He just wanted to forget about Sarah and all that he saw yesterday. Nick had checked his blood sugar and it was slowly rising. He had to control himself better or his diabetes would take over. A knock at the door broke through his thoughts. He turned off the TV and picked up his cell phone on the table, then opened the door]
NICK: Time to go—
[He looked up at the person who had knocked. It wasn't Big Rob]
SARAH: Nick, can we talk first?
NICK: About what? About how you've been sneaking around behind my back with some other guy?
SARAH: Just hear me out.
NICK: Fine.
[Nick didn't bother letting her in cause he wasn't planning on staying long. He had a flight to catch. They both stood in the doorway. Sarah fidgeted with the sleeve of her sweater]
SARAH: Would it help if I said sorry?
NICK: Not really.
SARAH: Nick, you don't know what it's like to have a boyfriend that's always away performing for thousands of other girls. It's so hard cause you don't even bother with phone calls.
NICK: I call you everyday! Twice a day! And I text you good morning and good night! And you know why I'm away. I'm not the one with who's cheating here.
SARAH: I know, but... I missed seeing you everyday and having you around. I was really down then and David was there for me.
[If a guy had ever felt so used it was now]
NICK: If you couldn't take it, you should've just told me!
SARAH: And then what? I didn't know if I could handle breaking up with you. We were together for so long.
NICK: Too late. We're done.
[Nick closed the door of the hotel room behind him and tried to walk down the hallway, but Sarah clung on to him]
SARAH: Nick. Wait. I'm really, really sorry.
[Nick pulled his arm away]
NICK: Me too.
[He turned his back on her and tried to keep walking, but all of sudden his head started spinning. He tried to take another step forward but it seemed like the floor had been pulled out from under him. Sarah noticed his hands shaking and reached for him before he fell]
SARAH: Nick! Nick! What's wrong?!
[Big Rob came walking down the hallway. He ran when he saw Nick being held up by Sarah]
BIG ROB: What happened?
SARAH: I don't know! I think he fainted!
[Sarah's voice trilled higher, worry on her face. Nick went limp in Big Rob's arms]
BIG ROB: We've got to get him to the hospital!
[Big Rob carried Nick to the elevator, Sarah close behind him. Once the elevators door opened, he rushed to their waiting car and put Nick in the back seat. He closed the door once Sarah got inside and hopped into the front seat]
BIG ROB: Closest hospital. Now!

[Back at Joe and Sheryll's house, Kevin, Joe and Sheryll lay in the shade of the trees where the breeze was cooler. Mr. and Mrs. Jonas, and Frankie were inside watching TV]
JOE: I bet Nick's out on date right now with Sarah.
SHERYLL: I hope she liked the present he picked for her.
KEVIN: What was in that little box anyways?
SHERYLL: It was a locket with their pictures in it. Nick had trouble picking the right picture.
[Sheryll laughed as she remembered going through the pictures with Nick]
JOE: He's so picky sometimes.
FRANKIE: Kevin! Joe! Sheryll!
[Frankie ran out of the back door and sprinted towards them]
KEVIN: Whoa. Slow down.
FRANKIE: Nick is in the hospital!
[Kevin, Joe and Sheryll were on their feet in a second]
JOE: What happened?
FRANKIE: I don't know. I just overheard Mom talking on the phone.
[They all ran back into the house and heard Mrs. Jonas almost in tears]
MRS JONAS: Ok. Thanks Big Rob. We'll be there in a few hours. Boys pack your things. We're getting on the next flight to LA.

[In 6 hours they were running into the hospital looking for Nick's room]
MR JONAS: The nurse said room 304.
JOE: Here it is.
[Big Rob greeted them when they came in. Sarah was sitting next to Nick's bed where he lay asleep. Mrs. Jonas rushed up to Nick and patted his arm]
MRS JONAS: What happened?
[Sarah looked away so Big Rob answered her question]
BIG ROB: He's fine right now. But earlier his blood sugar went up too high.
MR JONAS: We should go find the doctor and speak to him.
BIG ROB: I'll go with you.
[He escorted Mr. and Mrs. Jonas out of the room]
SHERYLL: Sarah. What's wrong?
[Tears started flowing down Sarah's face. She wiped them away as she tried to talk]
SARAH: [Whispering] I'm sorry. This is my fault.
SHERYLL: What are you talking about? I thought Nick was here to surprise you.
SARAH: He was waiting in my dorm room, but...
JOE: But what?
[Joe was getting irritated because he wanted to know what had caused this. He didn't like seeing his brother lying in a hospital bed. Sarah just shook her head, too embarrassed to say any more]
