Thanks - I'm not really musical just trying to lead wee ones in learning the Psalms. My sister is playing the piano and did mention that it had a weird meter - 888888...? Doesn't mean much to me but we did sing it to the same tune as "A debtor to mercy alone" but still quietly looking for a 'nicer' tune if that's ok to say.... Thanks anyway R

Hi, Nice tune - thanks. Have you any suggestions for Psalm 121 in regard to Sing Psalms. Thanks

You can hear this sung on the Free Church of Scotland's own website - Google free church psalm tunes

It goes to the new version of Psalm 23 in the Free Church's psalter "Sing Psalms" "The Lord is my Shepherd, no want shall I know/ He makes me lie down where the green pastures grow/ He leads me to rest where the calm waters flow."

Farewell to Tarwathie written by George Scroggie.
A song about a young man off to the whaling is from 1850s.I think!
Tarwathie is near a Village called Strichen ,North of Aberdeen (which is in the North East Scotland)

Very sweet melody. I will introduce it to my choir.
I think it's relatively new? It's got a bizarre meter...
