Shit! There goes another billion years or so of the sun's lifespan. And then what are we going to do?

This is how comets commit suicide.

First destructive solar flare was recorded in 1859. Telegraph poles were on fire and telegraph network were down. After careful study, next event was already foreseen with 90% life wipe out but Scientists coded the actual date in Religious way to prevent people from panicking (late 19th century). Micheal the Archangel was the key where he defeated Satan and save the Earth from burning in Hell. 2012 - 1859 = 153.
Search 153 that relates "Micheal the Archangel" in Google. You'll be surprised.

that flare you see that is erupted is probably million miles away, and to our eye it looks like nothing. Now look at yourself, and your place in this world.

first rule of youtube comments: when there is the slightest amount of science involved, most of the comments will be "trolololo..."-natured.

@grayxy According to the Daily Telegraph the chunk of matter was a piece of Oprah Winfrey's ass which seperated from her in 1997. Don't know the volume. Roughly 10,000 cubic miles....

@BrotherOrchid AGREED. this is just another case of the sun bullying its way around OUR solar system without much regard for little else. The sun must realise that the solar system belongs to every interstellar object regardless of size or background. I think this kind of bigotry is why the universe is so dark...

Fake and gay.

@Skyywatcher88 - yea i saw 10+ comets cuz the time counter at bottom started over many times to show it slow then faster = pleaze don't type so fast +be more observant
@ThunderCheeksMoany The sun is 109 times larger than the earth, that object is probably 5 times larger than our planet. You really think the American government made a missile larger than the earth and shot it at the sun?
Dont forget your tinfoil hat!

@rammar09 But to be on a real note, the comet never caused the CME. If you go to STEREO-A COR2 on the date posted in this video, you can see that the comet is clearly away from the sun, and on opposite side of where the eruption took place. The comet never impacted the sun also...SOHO only shows one angle, and it wasn't even a flare, more like a plasma eruption...more observant than you think.
