@gatheringleaves That's a good theory. There is no denying the science behind their nature. But there is also no denying the fact that humanity breeds this hate and pain that compels them to trust their instincts. Nana for example was not a killer at all in fact she remained loyal to her "father" and to Kohta and the rest.

I think Diclonius are there living proof of the hidden and subtle darkness in mankind that it only revealed to some, while others are blinded by false ideas.

Well it could possibly be a mixture of both. Maybe Diclonius naturally had instincts that made them want to destroy the human race and populate it with their own but that urge was triggered whenever they were treated cruelly or inhumanely, and that perhaps they could live in harmony with humans if they were treated with kindness. Humans have a habit of lying or distorting the truth, so maybe all the things they said about Diclonius being dangerous were just excuses to kill them

@gatheringleaves interesting idea. You can say that but why does Lucy and Nana seem to be so friendly around Kohta and at the rest of the world they hated them? Perhaps it was humanity that released their killer instincts. There is no doubt that their mutations were deadly, but it does not mean that they are evil

at first when i watched this my inner perv peeked out and said oohoho hot girl 10 mins into show, i respect girls alot more and now i want to follow pycho killers in their actions, long livemonsters, destroy all hating humans ^_^

u know....when i read the manga i can see a noble heart in herself when she sacrifice to kill lucy but in the anime they make her like the craziest girl till the end O_O
