Very clever hide somewhere in Marion, Iowa. Anybody can hang a micro from a tree but this is a great example of GeoCaching! Clever hides like this make the hobby FUN!

come to the netherlands, most caches here are hidden in creative ways, cause there are simply not many remote hidingplaces. The caches here are awesome

@tronflynn3 There was one similar to this in a nearby park. It's not there any more... the original hider didn't upkeep it.

I have found one like this, but it was a magnetic key holder and not tied. When replacing the cache, we dropped it down the fence post and had to find some long metal to fish the keyholder back out. Tying it to the post cap is much smarter!

Ive seen about 50 geocaches like these on youtube and found about 15 in real life...It is a creative hide, but maybe becoming a bit overrated.

Pretty sure I've found that one, or at least one like it in the area. I know I've found the clever rock one you posted. Took a couple trips to finally realize just where that one was at.

These are all over the place, very common as an urban hide. In fact, just found one yesterday and another earlier today. Those are "chainlink fence post" hides, and are very common along with "LPC"s (light-post cache, hidden under the "skirt" of a lightpost) and GRC's (Guard Rail Caches, hidden in highway or street guard rails).

I love the creative hides. I've seen some disguised as a bolt, one inside a fake rock, and one person even welded a new base to a light post to hide a cache inside.

geo caching is coo, but for some reason a lot of geo cachers i've seen are over weight. I figured they'd would be in pretty good shape being out there walking around looking for caches. Maybe they decide to start as a form of exercise?

Ok, I have to ask. What is it?
Forgive my ignorance. My guess is the secret
location for plans to destroy the death star.
Oh wait... That doesn't happen for another 1000 years from now...

GeoCaching is a worldwide GPS treasure hunt! Most cities and towns have a few. My area has over 300 hidden! Either use a gps or google maps. Each cache varies in size and the bigger ones have items inside that you can take (as long as you leave one of your own). Items vary, anything from toys to DVD's. They also contain a log book where you write your name and date. It's a very fun hobby if you like treasure hunts!

GeoCachers, ever find any like this? Also, what was your favorite type of cache?
