Second in a series of 23andMe videos that introduces human prehistory, this video describes how our human ancestors spread throughout Africa and then into other regions such as Australia and Europe. How did they reach Australia so early on? What happened when our ancestors encountered Neanderthals? Find out more about your deep ancestry at https://www.23andme.com/ancestry/

  • i am still waiting to hear from any white supremecist who has had a dna test proving he/she is not an african mongrel like everyone else.

  • The problem is that people like that just deny anything they don't want to believe. I am sure there is a strong correlation between white-supremacy and belief that the earth is less than 10,000 years old according to the old-testiment. Hence for those people they wouldn't even believe that this was possible anyway. Hard to believe that in the 21st Century there are people out there denying such clear facts bud sadly there are many of them... But, they are slowly dwindling. Hope there is!

  • Does it make sense to ask whether they met homo erectus? Isn't homo erectus our ancestor? Or is it fine to say that, am I'm missing a bit of information?

  • @kdum8 Indeed there are many of them. Nearly half of americans are creationist ...

  • Doesnt the genetical evidence suggest that europe was populated long after Australia in a 2nd wave of migration that came about 15000 years after the first wave that populated australia? The 2nd wave has genetic markers that are much younger than ones found in Aboriginal dna and is found in most east asians, native Americans, europeans, and people along central-asia and south asia.

  • Beautifuly done!

  • I can't fathom the 50km water travel.

  • excellent video

  • A concise, but great introduction to biological anthropology, anthropological genetics, and human prehistory.

  • Archeology magazine has an article about the possibility that humans were in India 70, 000 years ago
