Originally meant to be a prelude introduction to a episodic war cartoon, functions like an old time newsreel depicting events leading up to World War II

Creator's Note: I have never claimed and will never claim historical accuracy on this video, as it says above it was made for entertainment sake. And it bears no ill-will to any German person, the only villain in this video is Adolf Hitler, (and he wasn't even German) and if you side with him, then I really couldn't care how offended you get.

@samdiego Yeah I didn't find that many either, this is a pretty nice summary of the lead-up to WWII in some ways, it's just a little German-centric, ignoring things like the Soviet Union's factor in it to the point where the uninitiated are going WTF when they see Soviet forces mobilizing on the eastern border of Poland at the end of the film.

An inaccuracy of this video is that Hitler did not take all off Czechoslovakia after the Munich Agreement and the annexation of the Sudetenland. He gave the eastern part of the country to Hungary, established the independent state of Slovakia in the middle, and took the western part and called it "the protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia". Also, you forgot that in 1939, Hitler also annexed Memel from Lithuania in the east and added to East Prussia.

@WhiskyNorth 2 things that u r clearly missing, that the whole world by ignorance is missing to be honest :) 1. Soviet Union invaded on 17th, 17 days after german invasion, that is because Stalin was afraid of allies decision.

2. Poland was able to defeat 1 of them ger or russia in 1939(don't wont to get in to much details here pm me if u want) and even small help form FRANCE or BIRTAN woudl help. there was no need to send army. Just air and naval support was enough for Poland.

@WhiskyNorth Britain & France in 1939 hoped that Germany would withdraw from Poland without a fight. Their was no major plan, The Allies wanted 2 defeat Germany and in the surrender they would sign over Poland just like the Great war. Winston Churchill plan was to make Stalin give up Poland Eastern Europe after the war, However only Churchill arguee with Stalin and the Cold war started. Churchill planned operation unthinkable and could have started World war 3. What could the Allies do?

@martynrobin121 But what was their objective? To fight germany and defeat it so they could liberate 60 % or so of Poland, then just forget about the part occupied by the Soviet Union? Hitler and Stalin were united at that time so the fear of that can´t be the reason. Was the defence treaty between Poland and the west only against german aggression.

@WhiskyNorth You ask why the Allies did not declare war on the Soviet Union 1939? Remember it was Hitler going against the Treaties and refused to leave poland, That is what started the war. The Red Army invaded Poland AFTER Germany and obviously the British & French were not going to declare war and unite Hitler & Stalin that would be foolish, The Allies were in shape to face the Axis never mind the Axis & Soviets.

@BluestyleY What? Czech was never given to Hitler. Look at the Munich Treaty! Hitler betrayed the Treaty and occupied all of Czech that was illegal.Hitler said from the 1920s he would take over Germany and invade Communist Russia he wrote a book about, Millions READ IT! In 1940, Hitler made great offers of peace, He wanted to give Western Europe to the British for peace. The British could have left Facism & Communist destroy each others, Remember Britain went to war FOR OTHERS interests!!

BTW, when hitler attacks and invades chechslovakia STalin offered insureance and guarantees of independece to them and asked FRance and Britain to do the same.. they didn't.. it was agreed by france and britain to give chezhoslovakia to germany.. the west-britain, france, usa, hoped this mad dog -hitler they created by financing him during the 30's would invade only russia.. it was a risk they were willing to make.. it backfired .. but still SU almost got destroyed nontheless.. WEST is NAZISM

no change the hitlers germany with USA and you get a situation of the world today! .. UN is helpless in stopping countless endless wars of the usa war machine.. one country after another falls in destruction.. nothing remains but refugees and suffering, kosovo, serbia, bosnia, iraq, libya, afghanistan, pakistan, and tomorrow iran.. maybe even russia and china.. UN remains silent.. appeasement will come to an end when they start to undermine russia and china.. thats about NOW!!

Like it, especially the part about churchill clariflying it was Chamberlain's fault, not the British's fault. Then again, if the USA had joined earlier, then prehaps the Leauge would've had more power?
