  • @sheilamaclean it's not that staff are "allowed" to watch tv...they just do. I work in a psychiatric hospital and trust me we NOT allowed to watch tv but some people do...I've seen it. It happens, EVERYWHERE.

  • Im sorry but I use to work in a nursing home that had a special care unit and we worked our asses off 24 /7.do you know how hard this kind of work is theres never enough staff to take care of the residents like they should be. this is the hardest job I ever had and everyone cared for the patients like they were theyre own family . maybe where this happened its typical but i live in wisconsin and the laws and the rules are very stricked theres no way anyone would get away with this.

  • I don't live in America but here in the UK my nan's doctor took her off some pills and around a day later she had diarrhoea about 2 weeks later my nan went back on the pills and she didn't have diarrhoea but the doctor told her to stop taking them. They also give her a bunch of pills and medicines but they don't explain what their for.

  • this happens in West Virginia jails they leave u to die. western regional jail west virginia! true! God Save that state.

  • @psychsera And what other organisation allows its employees to watch TV while on the job. Care staff. The very ones who need to be alert and pro-active. Staff should not be allowed to watch TV on duty. Period. Nobody seems to be willing to step in and put some standards and basic rules into hospitals and homes. There needs to be a clean sweep and more responsibility put on those who run these places. People are not inanimate objects and should not be treated like so much flotsam.

  • my god... OMFG WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD TODAY what is wrong with people and life... nobody gives a shit... its just like it doesn't even matter even if people are sick, or mental, or to old! Why is it like this?! Really!? The guy can't just get up his lazy ass to save somebody's life... I geuss that he thought cards were more important well you know what!? I bet when he's old the same thing is going to happen to his... KARMA BITCH

  • mkay fuck it Im speaking my mind... that pissed me off people don't give a shit about anybody but themselves anymore, my grandma said she'd rather die than to go to a nursing home because of the shit that happens these days... Im pissed I'm shaking right now... That could have been prevented so easily that persons life could have been saved so fucking easily but that lazy dumb ass can't walk a couple feet to check on that poor guy...oh

  • hi Talljim01...i'm a nurse's aide in a mental health facility in Canada. I think this story that you've told is is very sad, but unfortunately it happens. I've seen a few nurse's and aides who just sit back during down time...watch tv or whatever. I myself, spend time with the patients, talking to them and getting to know them more. I'm no saint, i just enjoy it. For the most part though, the hospital i work at is pretty amazing..not many people like that.

Thanks for your video...an eye opener.

  • you think these things don't happen in general hospitals??? LOL please.

  • that just pisses me off.
