  • Very nice presentation of your experience on the movie. Too bad you didn't mention or have footage of actor Henry Beckman on your BTS reel.

  • @Smartsgal Henry was a great guy and always good fun to talk with. I also wish I had some photos to include of him . . .

  • @Smartsgal Henry was a great guy and good fun to chat with. I wish I had some a few photos of him to include, but unfortunately, I don't.

  • In February, you can find it as part of a double feature on Amazon

Out of interest, do you have any information on the slit goggles worn by Lee Marvin. Where did they come from? Did anyone on the set develop snow blindness whilst on location. Enjoyed your insights.

  • Very cool thanks for putting this on U Tube!

Hey! Howmuchyouwannabet the snow goggles worn by Lee Marvin's mountie for the movie were the same pair worn by Donald Sutherland's mountie in 1992's "Shadow of the Hunter". I've heard some of Hollywood's props have had mighty long, impressive careers of their own.

What I would really kill for is for someone to post the soundtrack from the movie. That menacing opening theme was awesome!

Mebbe Hunter Ellis will do an episode his Military Channel "Man, Moment, Machine" on the incident, considering the pivotal role that 2-way radio and aviation played in running the real-life Johnson to earth.

Death Hunt was definitely an experience. It became a cable TV classic. I do wish someone might do a version closer to the truth. The History Channel recently did a bit on the exhumation of "Albert Johnson" and an advanced DNA analysis of his bones. No, they still don't know who he really was but apparently we now know he could not have been Scandinavian.

Perhaps one day someone will direct a more realistic version of the story.

  • Great pictures. What an opportunity to be on set with two genuine tough as nails hard men legends. You must drink free on the stories every night of your life. Can't see anyone being too interested in the on set stories surrounding todays generation of metrosexual leading men.

  • Yes, Henry was a terrific person to know. I miss him. Are you still in the biz?
