We love flea markets. Notting Hill in London, Clignancourt in Paris and Los Encantes in Barcelona are three top notch flea markets. The Parc Cascine flea market, along the Arno river in Florence, has now been added to our list.
The 'flavor' of each market is different. Where Notting Hill is mostly antiques and yes further down clothes etc. and Encantes is the best mix of everything the Parc Cascine market is 80% clothes and much is new designer items plus 20% miscellaneous as the video will show. For example only one DVD vendor whereas designer hand bags, boots blouses rule the day. Also big signs that say "Buying Counterfeit" is a CRIME.
Enjoy this High Definition tour on a beautiful sunny September 2010 day.
Details: take a 17C bus and get off at Piazza Kennedy where you see the market trucks in the distance and where most all in the bus will be getting off. The return bus leaves from an island that is just a few feet away from the last vendors at the start (where you entered the markiet) of the market. There is a short double row as well as the best sausage, hamburgers etc. here and then the long mile or so stroll down on large aisle with the food court way way down at the very end. Happy strolling and shopping.
