The Great Vanuatu ANZ Duck Race 2009

The inaugural Great Vanuatu Duck race against cervical cancer was held at Le Meridian on 17th Oct in Port Vila Vanuatu. Organised by Dr Margaret McAdam and Helen Politis.

5000 ducks droped from the sky via a helicopter over the Le Meridian lagoon and raced on the tide to the beach.

A celebrity giant duck race opened the event, with local personalities racing on giant ducks to the shore.

Refreshments and other various entertainment kept those supporting the event amused throughout the day.....
