I've had type 1 diabetes for 37 years. The synthetic insulin does cause problems and not rarely. It hits like a hammer and has no duration. I am importing pork (natural) insulin from Canada and it works better for me. I originally was on pork (natural) and went to synthetic. I couldn't stand being on the synthetic insulin. Doctors and pharmaceutical companies love to blame the patient and not the product. Natural isn't perfect but does work better.
