I was given some Seagate GoFlex devices to try out in my home. We recently upgraded our router and it was the right time to add the Seagate GoFlex Home to the network. This device allows us to have continuous online backup through our network. Works with MAC and PC and backups are done automatically and wirelessly.

  • can you connect other usb hard drives in the usb port for additional storage???

  • @dsmall86 Yes you can. You can actually daisy chain them and add tons of storage.

  • how fast are the transfer rates?

  • @iammrhappy12 I'm not sure about that but check out seagate.com and I'm sure you can find your answer.

  • having difficulty understanding the difference between net and home versions, net seems to have been built for previous external drives, to connect them on the deck etc...dont you get the same, access from the internet, features that net offers with home? does not that pogoplug thing work for the home version, how will I access my files stored at home, from work via internet with the home version? and would I be able to ADD files, rename, MOVE to another folder etc from work via internet?

  • @skykhan3 The Goflex Home connects to your home network for automatic backing up of files. But it isn't necessarily the best for accessing those files outside of your network. the Goflex Net is better for that using the pogoplug software. Also you can daisy chain any USB drives to the GoFlex Net and make those accessible through PogoPlug as well.

  • 2 people are gay, look at the dislikes

  • I dont see the point in these home nas devices. You can do the same thing by just sharing any drive on your network, if you really need your files on the run you can just setup a ftp server on your pc, all of this can be done in about 20 minutes minus the pricetag.....Seems like these are aimed at people who dont know any better? Unless im wrong? Autobackup isnt worth a few hundred dollars at all in my eye..but thats just my opinon...

  • @staunjul glad to help.

  • @abennett96 Thanks for that. Sounds like this is the one i want! Really appreciate your help mate.
