@druisten3 Bugger off Ivan... Tired of you people acting like the SKS is the holy grail of all things gunnery. It's a cheap $250 commie rifle.

@toasty4000000 To remove the entire front sight/bayonet lug assembly on anything other than a yugo- you simply need a punch and a hammer. tap out the 2 pins...one on top and one in the rear of the sight "slide" and a little heat and a few whacks and voila...she will come right off. if you have a yugo and want to remove the grenade launcher..you need a tool...best way to do that one.

I cant wait for mine to get in, but can some one give me some advice on removing my front sight? I looked around and from what I've read, there is a tool specifically for removing it. Is this the right way to go or is there a way to do it with a tool I probably already have?

@chezypuuf The origin of the gun has nothing to do with it. I don't like the former USSR (Or present Russia for that matter) but that has nothing to do with that gun. The ak47 is one of the best rifles in the world. My brother owns one and it's amazing. I own the SKS; It's amazing as-well. It's "Cheap" Because they mass-produced the hell out of it. Like the ak47. Its an amazing gun. It may not be a AR-15 but it has its advantages over 1000$ Guns. So stop trolling.

@w3bj3d12 first off the underage comment what does that mean, shes putting a gun together not sipping some of grandpas cough medicine, next i know as you do also, that the worlds not perfect but really should her father have had to worry about a vulgar comment, or should there not be immature people in the first place to leave them, ur comment sounded to me like you are less against vulgar comments, and more for people changing their videos to some overly modest universally friendly trash heap

I just finished watching both parts of the assembly, has any one purchased and used this kit in the field at all? Any reviews yet? Is this as dependable as it is made out to be? It looks great and all but... ?

I bought mine a few days ago. Don't care if it takes a few months. I bought a Hammer/Sear/Trigger kit from Murray's Guns to be compliant. I tried to find an American made fixed 10 round mag but I couldn't find one made of metal. The kit from Murrays was $85. Counts as three pieces. Removing the handguard and FSB took me under compliance. I live in CA so its rough, but removable mags for the SKS are a crapshoot anyway.

@Dmajorproductions You can remove the FSB by tapping out the 2 pins holding it in place on the barrel. Then, you heat the front sight area, then the bayonet lug. You tap the bayonet lug toward the end of the muzzle, removing it. Usually, this is hard as hell because the FSB is happy where it is and doesn't want to come off. You can angle the rifle muzzle down, buttstock up, then place a block of wood on top of the BL, then hit with mallet, taking care not to strike the barrel. Good luck.
Don't remove the negative comments, anyone who looks at what you guys have put together can clearly see that the wait was worth it. Nice job, look forward to getting mine... waiting a year was painful, but appears to be worth it.

@mpeugeot The comment was vulgar that is why it was removed.
