trumpet vine growns like wildfire. It comes in yellow, orange and almost a red color. It is invasive... it sends shoots underground and they send up new shoots. So I would suggest putting it on an arbor for instance away from the house or on a fence line that you DONT share with a neighbor. It will go under the fence and all over their yard... you dont trim it to flower more, it only flowers on NEW shoots, so just let it go, then when it gets late summer, then you can hack it back.
