This is a test of a myki reader on a tram using a concession card. Conducted on 12/2/2010 on a route 48 towards North Balwyn at 23:50 in the Melbourne CBD. This was the only reader on the tram that was not 'out of service'.

  • Lol fail. but surprisingly my myki worked on a route 1 to st kilda. it even deducted the right fare and even showed up on my transaction history.

  • yeah... it works pretty well on trams most of the time, just they were all turned off on this one...

  • Your using it the wrong way around... its meant to be upright

  • that happens to my card as well

  • @pokemon4life123 He is using a myki card... there are 3 kinds on myki...

    Full Fare: Which are blue...

Concession like "mykimyki1" is using which are green with a big "C" on them... like in this video..

Child: Which are green with a big "CH" on them...

Senior: Which are green with a big "S" on them...

He is not putting his actual concession card on the myki RFID reader... he is putting his Concession myki to the reader which should work but it didn't...

  • you actuli hav 2 use a myki card dick cheese

  • The card touch is correct. But they are only supposed to work on trains only since trams and buses are not ready on most.

  • yeah i realised after haha, thought they were just green cards.

  • @B744ER Its a Myki concession card..

  • thats a concession card?

    not a myki lmao?

  • @mykimyki1 you are touching on right but a lot of the tram readers have been turned off because of people trying to touch on on a tram because its not ready and when you try and touch on on a tram it stuffs with the testing so that's why they have been turned because of idiots like this! so you are both wrong!

  • How are you meant to touch on? The promotional material for myki suggests you hold it still over the reader, which is exactly what I'm doing.
