Vietnam is a country who's national values are lying, cheating and stealing. They don't seem to give a damn about themselves in the way they behave, drive and treat others, so it makes it very difficult to give a damn about them! The B-52 bombings should've gone on another 5 years at least. That would have done the world a favor. To all you troopers who served up a hearty ass whippin and helped to rid the planet of ignorant morons, God bless you.

One thing that send the North Vietnamese to the peace talks was when we took the battle to them.
The bombing of Hanoi and Haiphong did more to stop the war than the piecemeal killing in the South. The NVA leadership could care less about the losers it sent south..but when the gloves came off and the B52s flew over Hanoi..then the wanted it to end.

NVA/NLF had 1.100.000 dead in the whole while the US only had 58.200... i would say that's 1-0 to the US

Don't forget the lesson of Vietnam: You can't measure success in war by body counts. Every week we killed more of them then they did of us, but in the end, the North Vietnamese achieved their goals, we didn't.

After the battle our troops ventured out into the hills and found shallow mass graves of dead NVA, perhaps 25,000 dead. We lost several hundred Marine dead. I'd say that was a royal ass whupping on those 4 divisions of NVA! WE broke their backs. Every year we would kill 90% of the high school graduating classes of North Vietnam in the South! They just loved to die for us!
