Great...what kind of PU's are in that Goldtop? Am I right in thinking that an Explorer is more limited in it's ability to create different tones, the Gold top nails it just fine.

yep thats it..Amp was cranked loud though to get it to break up as well as the level knob on the mem man cranked

this is why it sounds rather clean. I prefer this sound as to hear the notes clearer. I love the SNL version they did. To me it sounds like the studio version

I have antiquities in my Goldtop. The Explorer is a fine guitar and to me very different. I have mine in standard thus i used my goldtop for this
