Always carry extra water get shut down whatever the reason you need to have water. You can get caught in an earthquake, Flood, Hurricane area never know you have to be prepared. I carry both water and a MSR miniworks water filter just in case.

I find this works so well because it is so easy to do and takes hardly any time for preparation. The most time intensive part is getting the groceries I choose wal mart because they are familiar to me with their volume you know you are going to get fresh stock. If you have used a check in any wal-mart and are on the road they will take your check (same account) even if you are far from home. Use the walmart bags to store your dirty cloths in keeps the odor down in the truck if the smell is contained.

What ever you buy keep in mind the amount of storage space (fridge volume) you have for keeping things cold that is why I am so specific about what I buy cold because once they defrost gradually in the fridge you will have to eat them or you will be tossing your money in the trash. I so buy some cold cuts but this is for when I want a change up you eat sandwiches every day you will gain weight. If you live on the road more than I do you might want to invest in a microwave (MW) and inverter but many companies restrict the inverter wattage and you could be a while before they will install it they usually want to install it because of all the past truck fires due to improper installation. This should be standard in any truck with a sleeper. Lot of guys that carry a MW will heat water in it and take a sponge bath when they find they cant get to a truck stop to get wet. I keep baby wipes to freshen up if I reach that point. Always try to stop at idle air locations but you can't always get there so freshen up best you can with what you have.

Bread needs to be in a crush proof box things get tossed around in the truck and you want the bread to be fresh and in good shape when you need it. If your candy bar happens to get hot and melts place it in the fridge it will be ready to eat 2 hours.

When you stick to this you will loose weight when you get to that point it is a given you will start to feel better and will take advantage of opportunities to exercise. Weather you go for a bike ride take a walk or just do some pushups while you wait on a shower you will feel better and better. The healthier you are the more likely you are to stay alert. The SMITH system is the best learn it live it saves fuel.

I buy blue-plate mayo because it doesn't have to be refrigerated that is more space for items that have to be refrigerated. Save the blue-plate plastic containers they can be used to store rice I just wash them and save them. I keep a lot of packets of stuff (in a soft zip lunch box) like salsa, mayo, catsup, mustard, vinegar, lemon juice, you name it you can save it add it to a meal to give it that special taste for no extra charge. When I buy slim Jims they come in a round container I reuse it to stock plastic forks spoons. Don't deny yourself the things you really like buy a couple a 6 pack of your favorite candy bars to keep on hand for desert. There are times that don't do and I want a frosty get a small one and grab some side salads for the road get enough forks and spoons to last.

Coleman refrigerator needs some maintence I unplug it when I go in for the shower that way I have plenty of chances to plug it in before I leave this can allow moisture to collect on the bottom of the fridge keep that in mind when you place the bottom meal in the fridge try to place a plastic plated dinner at the very bottom. Every time you restock your fridge spray it down and wipe it good this will keep bacteria down.
Carry a spray disinfectant to clean up with I will get a tube if Lysol wipes and use them to tidy up inside the truck wipe every surface you touch try to do this every other day it will keep you from getting sick. Hand gels and baby wipes can do wonders to keep your hands clean if you can't do this carry latex gloves you can get these at sally beauty supply box 100 about $8 last quite a while. (get the right size)

When refueling use a latex glove to handle the cap and nozzle I use only one hand to fuel that way I save gloves. Some use a leather glove that is flawed you will get diesel particulates on every surface you touch. YUCK! Even if you are going to stay at the nozzle use a bungee cord to secure the hose to the tank (takes a second) one spill will funk up your truck for weeks.

My method will keep you out the truck stop and out around the locals get out see the country little I saw one trucker went one better he carried a Harley Sportster on his truck he got to where he needed to be he rolled the bike off the truck and was away visiting friends. Company drivers are limited on modifications they can make so I carry a folding bike there is an electric folding bike that I would like to try out but that is for another video.

  • Seen the show not where I would earn my money these days when I was younger I could have done that but now I have too much wrong with me to take on extreme weather as they do. I cant do any lifting after major back surgery. Pay is with any job you get what you can get them to pay you. Some companies don't pay but their rate and loose drivers for being obtuse. You don't do this job for the money sure you want to be paid enough but you better like it you give up everything for it.

  • @RETIREMESOON Recall when fuel prices were very high I drove through Atlanta rush hour did the speed limit through the entire town on a work week and never had to touch the brake for another car. It is a fallicy to believe that everyone should have their own car. This happened in Atl Ga because they have MARTA complete with subway it is cheaper and faster to ride the MARTA. We waiste too much trying to expand roads we need to charge by the pound for cars so people would get scooters etc.

  • @zombiesrule1 Listen I tip my hat to professional drivers.

The rest of society can barely drive a car safely.

  • @zombiesrule1 That is very good pay but I still would not do it maybe when I was 100% I could have but not now I am too used up. I did get a job down here that paid $150K but it was 12 hours a day 7 days a week in a disaster area. I had to have special shots prior to taking job had to share a room and bathroom with 6 other men I was always the last to bathe and had to be the first to rise so I was burn out in 3 weeks. Drove a bus water truck fuel truck ran a tool room. Paid off my car though.

  • @RETIREMESOON They said during the show they get paid $120,000.
