Incredible! Amazing! I've always longed to see a version if Tom Waits doing this live. I feel like now I have. This silliness about gruffness is irrelevant. He nails the intent and the emotion to a T. Bravo!

still fucking awesome

I don't think the 'gruffness' is so important, just the right emotion, and he nails it. The best cover of this I've heard, but he lacks that Waitsian quirkiness. You never know what Tom is gonna do with the next line, whether he's gonna sing it or speak it or even whether he's gonna choose to complete it. Therein lies the difference. The dynamic range, from whisper to roar, is also missing. But it sure is a great song and I wish I could sing it as well as this guy (whoever he is).

Tykkään tästä, Antti, kovasti.

I agree with you HIAAAAAHHHH, the gruffyness is important in Waits music. I spent several years playing these tunes and I was quite gruffy. However, this guy certainly did a great job.

If your going to cover a song you should probably have sung the correct lyrics! But other than that the voice was decent and the musicians were on point! Great arrangement!

Amazinggg. He sounds enough like Tom Waits for it to be faithful, but puts his own spin on the song as well. This is fucking incredible.
i too like his spin, but, i like the "gruffyness" of tom waits voice much more.
