Michael Blomfield's father was the owner/manager of the Bloomfield Restaurant Supply Company. I remember their coffee services (decades before Starbucks)) the the sugar spout (his invention) His father was not supportive of his musical endeavors
I saw this movie in the late 60's (I think it was done by Murray Lerner). Great to see this clip.
I had the pleasure of seeing the Butterfield Blues Band with Bloomfield numerous times. Jerry Garcia and I used to rave on about Bloomfield when he was in the Warlocks and worked at a guitar shop in Menlo Park in '65.
I absolutely respect Son House but what were Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Willie Dixon, et al playing if it wasn't the blues? Country vs City Blues perhaps?
My gosh! How great it is to see the legendary Son House up close carrying on his highly opinionated monologue about his craft. I dare say that Son was perfectly qualified to comment on the matter. Son House was the walking embodiment of what blues is all about.
