@Omega52 a cannon is a cannon but onces its out on a shil ips called a gun. The gun in th video was a Multi-purpose gun used to shoot down aircraft, shot subs and at smaller ships. a cannon is a signle purpose gun

Mortars and Howitzers are types of cannons. Guns are straight path cannons, Howitzers high angle and Mortars are extremely high angle cannons. Modern breech loading artillery pieces and muzzle loading mortars are still technically cannons. Ships cannons are mostly guns because historical warships did not carry indirect fire cannons. Mortars and Howitzers have been around since the 17th century and were not made as a replacement to guns, everything had it's purpose.

But in german is it called FLAK (Flugabwehrkanone).

And the english translation for "Kanone" is "Cannon".

i think you need to do a lil study on this.

a cannon is a Muzzelloading artilary piece. an AA gun is a gun ment to shoot down aircraft. cannons shot lil balls and were way to heavy so we replaced them with litter Howitzers and Mortors

a cannon is a straight line shot. Mortor fires high. so a howitzer can do both
